We live in an age of constant fear and anxiety. The news plays a huge role in our fear, it repeats negative stories all around the world. It’s no wonder we fear getting out of our comfort zone, taking a risk, and going on a new adventure.
Many places are not as bad as people make them out to be. Another way to look at it, if you think about it, no place in the world is 100% safe. If you decide to take the risk and get out of your comfort zone just remember to always be aware of your surroundings and listen to your gut.
There were many times when I was traveling that I felt scared to do things. The thing is after you do them you feel extremely proud of yourself. While I was in Nepal I went paragliding, I am terrified of heights and had to run us off the cliff, but after we were in the air I could see why it always worth it. Being so high up and looking at the gorgeous landscape surrounding me. Another time where I felt pushed out of my comfort zone and a little afraid to take the leap was during my first few took took rides in India. Getting into a car alone can be quite scary especially in an unfamiliar land. But after getting the hang of it, being confident, I felt so proud of myself to be able to do all of these things on my own. There is this amazing reward you get from inside for doing the things you think you can’t. Never forget to always believe in yourself because you are much stronger than you think!
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about taking chances, and how it’s really just about overcoming your fears. Because the truth is, every time you take a big risk in your life, no matter how it ends up, you’re always glad you took it.
