Where you stay can make or break your trip. Finding the right place that suits you is a key factor in having an amazing travel experience. My two favorite types of stays are hostels and Airbnb.
Hostels are a great way to meet people and get a little bit out of your comfort zone. When traveling alone, I almost always stay at hostels as they are almost always a much cheaper option to traditional hotels. If sleeping in a room with a bunch of strangers doesn’t suit you, double check that they offer private rooms before writing them off completely. Hostels almost always offer private rooms and at a much cheaper rate than hotels and some Airbnb locations.
Airbnb, on the other hand, is a great way to have a home away from home. You can cook and keep food at the place you are staying so you don’t always have to eat out. Choosing Airbnb usually comes at a higher price tag than a hostel but is still usually cheaper than a hotel. You have a few options when choosing Airbnb: you can rent the entire place, just a private room, or choose a shared room.
Whenever I am traveling to a location I always look up Airbnb options to see if there are any unique places I can stay. In certain parts of the world staying, in an Airbnb isn’t that much more expensive than a hostel and you can get a much more unique stay with traditional architecture.
Always keep your budget in mind as well as the type of travel experience you want to have.
